We are thrilled to announce that the long awaited Dublin run of No Citation is imminent! Following on from the sell out premiere in Belast's Lyric in 2022 No Citation will run for four nights in the Boys' School, Smock Alley Theatre from Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd November 2024. Kyron Bourke will reprise the role he created as piano man Jeremy d'wolfe McCarthy, while Maeve Smyth returns as Everywoman and Padraig Dooney as Milton 'Midnight' Hawkins. Rhiann Jeffrey is back with us to direct our Dublin production.
No Citation takes a wry, honest but forgiving look at a legendary Piano Man facing his final judgement and allows the audience to decide on the fate of the deeply flawed but ultimately human protagonist Jeremy d'wolfe McCarthy.
After breaking into derelict Dimitri's Piano Bar, McCarthy attempts to treat his audience to an evening of his latest songs, but finds he is being interrupted by ghosts from his past. As the realisation dawns on him that this may be his last gig ever, he tries to set the record straight.
No Citation is an immersive, funny and heartbreakingly honest study of a man attempting, as the end approaches, to come to terms with himself and the life he has lived. Interwoven with original songs, Bourke's Jazz and Blues Opera is a unique theatrical and musical event exploring the human condition at a critical juncture.
Save the Date! Tickets will be on sale soon from Smock Alley Box Office.
